Welcome!

The Net Price Calculator is designed to help you estimate your financial aid options as a full-time, first-year student at the University of San Diego. As you may know, there are some significant changes coming to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as part of what is known as “FAFSA Simplification”.  The Department of Education is making changes to the form in order to make applying for financial aid easier.  These changes are reflected on the new FAFSA form which became available in December of 2023.

This tool is intended to provide an estimated Financial Aid Offer based on information you will use to complete the FAFSA. We encourage all students to apply for admission, complete their Financial Aid Application (Free Application for Federal Student Aid, CA Dream Act Application, or USD Dream Act Application) and wait until they receive their official Financial Aid Offer before deciding if USD is the best fit.

To get the best results possible, please be sure to complete the entire process. For additional information, please view our Tuition and Financial Aid page.

Before you begin, it will be helpful to have the following items available:

Student information:

   -Grade Point Average (GPA)

Parent information:

-Earnings statements (W2 forms, recent pay check stubs)

   -Bank statements

   -2022 Tax returns (if available)

The first section will ask for the student information and will estimate the availability of a Merit Scholarship. Please note that our merit scholarship selection process relies not only on your grade point average, but on a thorough review of your academic record as well as your record of accomplishment outside of the classroom.  The only way to know with certainty if you will be eligible for a merit scholarship is to complete the Common Application and submit all the required application materials.  Details on applying may be found here.

The second section will ask for the parent and student income and asset information and will estimate the availability of need based financial aid. You are encouraged to complete both sections for the most accurate estimate possible.

Thank you, and please let us know if you have any questions.
