These questions will help us determine your (the student's) dependency status. If you are under the age of 24, unmarried with no dependents, and not a veteran or active duty military, but consider yourself to be independent, please contact the Financial Aid office.

How old are you?

Enter your age as of January 1st of the academic year you will enroll in college. If you are 24 or older, you are considered to be independent.

Yes NoIf you are married you are considered to be independent. Also answer Yes if you are separated but not divorced.

Are you the primary source of financial support for any children?

Yes NoIf you have children or dependents other than a spouse, you are considered to be independent. This includes people for whom you provide more than half of their support.
